OpenStudy (hhopke):

Solve the following three rational equations. WILL MEDAL AND FAN!!!

OpenStudy (hhopke):

\[\frac{ 6 }{ x+12 } = \frac{ 10 }{ x-4 }\]

OpenStudy (misty1212):

HI!! again

OpenStudy (misty1212):

start with \[6(x-4)=10(x+12)\]

OpenStudy (hhopke):

\[\frac{ x+12 }{ 6 } = \frac{ x-12 }{ 2 }\] and \[2=12+\frac{ 10 }{ x+10 }\]

OpenStudy (misty1212):

second one just like the first

OpenStudy (hhopke):

That's 6x-24=10x+120

OpenStudy (misty1212):

third one start with \[-10=\frac{10}{x+10}\]

OpenStudy (misty1212):

yes you are right, solve \[ 6x-24=10x+120\]

OpenStudy (hhopke):

-24=4x+120 -144=4x -36=x

OpenStudy (hhopke):

2x+24=6x-72 96+2x=6x 96=4x 24=x

OpenStudy (hhopke):

-10x-100=10 -10x=110 x=-11

OpenStudy (hhopke):

I guess I just needed help getting started. Thanks!!! :) <3

looks like you got it
