In my Chem lab, we are covering galvanic cells and chemical conversion to electricity. Anyways, one of the questions asked by we arbitrarily assigned one half-reaction reaction (in this case Zn2+ 2e- -> Zn(s) ) a value of 0V, and why all of the half-cell weren't experimentally determined instead. I'm not really sure why, any help?
