Want the probability of landing in the Light Blue... Need area of the rectangle, and the area of the circle... Probability of landing in the light blue = Area of Light Blue / Area of Whole
Area of Whole = Length Times Width for the rectangle. Area of Circle = pi* radius^2 , the radius is half the diameter The light Blue is the area of rectangle minus area of circle.
\[\Large \frac{ (L*W)-(\pi *r^2) }{ L*W }\]
L = 0.8 km and for the width I have to add the 1.0 to 1.4 to get 2.4. So now 0.8 * 2.4?
