What are the questions?

The amount of money a plumber charges when visiting a home to make a repair is shown by the linear equation c = 135 + 52h, where c is the amount the plumber charges and h is the number of hours spent at the home. How much does the plumber charge when h = 3.25?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I think its 12,300

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@AloneS

OpenStudy (anonymous):

c = 135 + 52h h = 3.25 So what we need to do here is substitute in the value of our variable: c = 135 + 52(3.25) Then simply solve: c = 135 + 169 c = 304

oh XD thanks, I have one more

Match each item in Column A to an answer in Column B. 5. (1 pt) Is each situation a linear or a nonlinear model? Column A Column B 1. The height of a ball when it is thrown into the air is shown by equation h = −16t2 + 20t + 3, where h is the height of the ball and t is time in seconds since the ball was released. 2. A salesperson’s monthly earnings are shown by the equation e = 1200 + 0.04s, where e represents the salesperson’s monthly earnings and s is her monthly sales. 3. The amount of a 500 g sample of a radioactive substance that remains over time is given by the equation , where d is the number of days since the sample weight was 500 g. 4. Mikaela’s distance from home as she drives at a constant rate is given by the equation d = 368 – 42t, where d is her distance from home and t is time in hours.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I'm afraid I can't help you here... try looking up definitions of linear and nonlinear model

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I can break the question up for you, I just relised how hard it looks XD

@AmTnRider can you help me buddy? XD

this is the question I need help on The height of a ball when it is thrown into the air is shown by equation h = −16t2 + 20t + 3, where h is the height of the ball and t is time in seconds since the ball was released. A. linear model B. nonlinear model

OpenStudy (anonymous):

About the ball is nonlinear

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Salesperson is linear. Mikaela's distance is linear.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

About radioactive substance i don't understand. If the equation has power over or below 1 then it is nonlinear equation

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thanks :D

OpenStudy (anonymous):

No problem :)
