What are autotrophs.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Autographs or autotrophs?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I was thinking the same thing.. lol

OpenStudy (alif):

from its name: Auto means self troph means "nutrient matter" Therefore we can conclude that an autotroph is an organism that self nourishing itself. An example of an autotroph would be produces, which are organisms that are capable of making nutritional matter from inorganic substances such as CO2. Plants would be a good example. TO check your understanding....what would heterotophs mean hetero means other or different troph means nutirent matter what would this mean and what organisms are an example (btw this will help you to remember autotrophs, by comparing it to heterotrophs)
