notice both sides have 5x, they cancel if you subtract 5x from both sides left with 5-3 = 9 , that is false, no solution for this equation

one solution will solve for x=a number
infinite solutions will look similar to the first case, except you will get a true statement, like 4 = 4 or something, infinite solutions
