okay I'm checking someone else's work to help me study so I compare what I've gotten to hers. her work: y = 200/tan(16.3) y = 683.95 my work: y = 200/tan(16.3) y = 297.393574318 I don't understand what i'm doing wrong... i punched it into the calculator...

Ah, check the form tthat your calculator is on. You seem to have your calculator on the RAD form, and you want the Degree form.

I'd say your friend is correct.... just check your calculator is set for degrees and not radians or gariants
