Suggestion. There should be an option in OpenStudy for a signature and to prevent explicit signatures I would understand if the moderators would have to approve the ones uploaded.
???
This website isn't like some adobe reader where you can add signatures, etc. :P
i dont like this idea, no purpose for it
new openstudy monkey
Too much extra work for the mods as well.
@Proxy You forgot the part where you explain the purpose of this feature... You mean like a forum signature?
I was also questioning the meaning of "explicit signatures"...
Profanity, Vulgarity, Nude Content etc.
there is no purpose for signatures. for what they are going to be used?
#1, I don't get what this signature is what official document are we signing?
@TheSmartOne None, I think he is asking if we can have those forum signatures.
Where they put gifs and philosophical statements in.
ohhhhhhhh
Personally, I'd think it would be kinda cool, and fun.
Yeah, great example! ^
Ehh...would be work for the mods indeed if there are inappropriate ones
I agree with @YoungStudier
What good comes out of it?
Plus that is kinda social-media related tbh...but then we have the "follow" function...so idk... >_>
making signatures is making a new openstudy monkey
If we create a "rank" of mod, where he/she looks over the site, looking for explicit content.
Won't it take up extra space?
Yeah, probably. XD
But I think it would make more lag..idk
Plus I imagine users hunting for signatures instead of studying, lol!
more monkeys, more lag, more space,
It probably depends on what the signature is. If they put a gif in there, of course it would make things more laggy, but If they just put text in... it will hardly do anything.
Openstudy is a studying site, not a insurance agency
I think this site has enough issues already. No use in making something else at a time like this.
More additions come with more issues. We don't need more issues.
it would add more work for moderators and moderators barely take care of reports as it is lets not add more stuff that moderators cannot handle :)
but then that could be a subscriber function, I'm generalizing here but I bet people that pay wouldn't go out of their way to make inappropriate signatures
^ great idea :)
Agreed.
:)
I think the main issue here is that it will clutter up the site and will make load time even slower and longer. There's really no point to this, this is a studying website. not a social forum.
What if it was a Subscriber feature?
Because honestly I think becoming a subscriber should include more features. That wouldn't be too much for the mods I don't suppose either because submissions would only be coming from Subscribers.
These are the type of Signatures I'm talking about http://s18.postimg.org/tox6rkeh5/Proxy_Open_Study_Sig.png
the subscriber feature is the paying 10$ a month to get: Choose your own "title" that appears by your username in study groups. A diamond SmartScore indicator that signifies your sponsorship. Surf OpenStudy without external advertisements.
but for what it will be used?
just another way to force people to give medals? or what?
@AlexandervonHumboldt2 I think it's just a cool feature that could add personalization to users.
or, where will this unusable feature apper?
new feature personalisation to users is adding a new monkey to opesntudy
@AlexandervonHumboldt2 Under subscription features :D
openstudy is already too heavy, has extremely number of lag
ok, but for what it will be used?
@AlexandervonHumboldt2 Hmm, if some users liked that feature they'd subscribe. If OpenStudy got money from subscriptions they can increase their bandwidth.
Did Proxy answer or question correctly? if so please give a medal. is this a way to earn medals?
this is an absolutely useless function
@AlexandervonHumboldt2 Really, you could put anything in there.
@AlexandervonHumboldt2 Point is why are you so against it? Is it going to change your day to day life? Is it going to affect your state of mind? If you're so against it then don't waste your time replying.
if i will not protest, openstudy might make a new ussless function which will slower the speed of OS working. ok now we will add signatures, then we will add fireworks button, then we will make a candy icon, then we will start making doodles. Openstudy will convert from studying site to fun site.
awful idea
no no no no, NO NO annnnnnd NO This is a bad idea in every sense of the expression, nice feature, but in the end way to much potential for abuse and thats from the king of adding features ._.
horrible idea from computer exept
C'mon guys is not that bad. If it was a subscription feature then it would most likely not be abused. About the lag, I don't see how a little signature would create lag (given that no images would be allowed). There's no need to completely burn this idea down... Though I also do not see a feature like this being implemented anytime soon since there's no real added functionality, just aesthetic value.

@Jaynator495 So my idea wasn't completely horrible eh?
