Why is DNA called the blueprint for life?

OpenStudy (jebonna):

Because it describes/defines how your body will be built, structured, and how it will function. All your features, traits and everything that happens inside your body is all down to your DNA, as when you were born, you were basically 'built' off of the specific genes and chromosomes that exist in your own, specific DNA.
