|x+3| < 12 either x+3 < 12 , - (x+3) < 12 x < 9 , x+3 > -12 , x > -15 9 > x > -15
2x + 6 > 8 2x > 2 x > 1
Solving this inequalities is similar to solving normal equation it only differs when you divide over a negative constant you've to flip the sign. Absloute value gives you both +, -
