The ordered pairs below represent a relation between x and y. (-3,1), (-2,3), (-1,5), (0,7), (1,9), (2,11) Could this set of ordered pairs have been generated by a linear function? A. No, because the y-values decrease and then increase B. No, because the distance between consecutive y-values is different than the distance between consecutive x-values C. Yes, because the distance between consecutive x-values is constant D. Yes, because the relative difference between y-values and x-values is the same no matter which pairs of (x, y) values you use to calculate it

OpenStudy (jacob902):

As you look, every time the X value goes up one, the Y goes up 2, making it a constant function making it linear. How to find slope, just take 3 points and see if they are equal by finding distance. like (Y2-Y1)/(X2-X1). Example would be the first 2 ordered pairs, (3-1)/(-2-(-3))=2/1 or slope of 2
