OpenStudy (leahhhmorgannn):

need help quick! triangle LMN is similar to triangle RST. What is the length of side LM? http://prntscr.com/91qlzl

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i think it's 6

OpenStudy (leahhhmorgannn):

How did you figure it out?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

if not 3.75

OpenStudy (leahhhmorgannn):

Well I need to show a step-by-step of my answer.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[12+3=15\] and \[3+3=6\] so it would be 6 the other one \[12\div4=3\] so \[15\div4=3.75\]

OpenStudy (alexandervonhumboldt2):

the ratio between sides is 4. thus the LM=15/4=3.75

OpenStudy (leahhhmorgannn):

How did you find that ratio, @AlexandervonHumboldt2

OpenStudy (alexandervonhumboldt2):

sides are similar, thus pick correspoonding pair of sides TR and NL : 12/3=4
