Some mods are more strict than others. They probably suspended you because the abbreviation was inappropriate, but they should have given you a warning, first.

Oh, they know about him. 
He's been that way for years. 
The older mods have apparently gained friendships with him, so they're unlikely to ban him. They even reinstate him if he is banned.

They bring him back only for his expertise in subjects. 
However I, for one, hope to put an end to his nonsense.
