Ship A receives a distress signal from the southwest, and ship B receives a distress signal from the same vessel from the north. At what location is the vessel in distress located? Describe how you arrived at your conclusion using complete sentences. You must show all work in order to receive credit.
@ganeshie8 ik your busy but if you have a chance... can you help me?
the vessel will be located on the intersection of the following two lines- http://prntscr.com/91wugg do u agree with this?
Yeah
I need a geometry explanation.. but yes I understand
can u find out the vessel's location now? it will be located on the intersection of the two lines :)
(1,2)
yes :)
And I arrived at this answer by connecting a line that was point to the directions of the arrows and see where they intersected?
well the vessel sends signals to ship B from the north so we can say that the vessel lies somewhere to the north of ship B :) so we draw a line towards the north direction from ship B similarly the vessel send signals to ship A from south west so we can say that the vessel is located in south west of ship A so we draw a line towards south west of ship A now the point where both the lines intersect is the only point from where not only the ship B will get signals from the north but also ship A will get signals from the south west.
So there is no math on this one? Just a worded response?
qwerty i know whats the reason you helping her
good :)
lol
yes u can do it with math too
Is there a way? Because I'm not sure if my teacher wants it with math or explanation. It doesn't specify.
okk for that u have to find out the equation of lines L1 and L2 http://prntscr.com/91wzny can u find out the equations?
You create equations in geometry for this? I'll probably just go with the explanation I just wrote down in my book. Thanks so much for your help :)
np (:
