Why did the Federalists support the ratification of the Constitution? They believed in a strong federal government. They thought that it would end slavery. They were afraid the British would take over again. They thought that it would solve all government problems.

Because the new constitution would give the central government more power then it did under the articles of confederation, and the federalists wanted a government with more power then its states
