Which chemical equation is balanced? a- h2o (arrow) h2 + 2o2 b- 2h2o (arrow) 2h2 + o2 c- 2h2o (arrow) h2 + 2o2 d- h2o (arrow) 2h2 + 2o2 thanks in advance

OpenStudy (ramzy197):

the answer is B

OpenStudy (anonymous):

An equation is balanced when the total number of atoms for each and every element is the same on both sides of the chmical equation. B satisfies the theory.

@Ramzy197 may you also give explanation to your answers.

OpenStudy (ramzy197):

ok sorry 2h2o--> 2h2 + 02 this is the answer because this is the only equation that shows a balance of the two elements. on the left hand side it shows you that there are 4 hydrogen atoms and 2 oxygen atoms and then on the right hand side it shows that there are 4 hydrogen atoms and 2 oxygen atoms hence its balanced and @Hoslos this is good enough explanation?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes, you got it.

OpenStudy (ramzy197):

awh thanks thats amazing @Hoslos

OpenStudy (anonymous):

No problem.
