Why is Hammurabi's Code important? A. It was the first time any ruler or society attempted to use written law that applied to everyone. B. It was a major step forward for civilization because it protected the weak from the strong. C. Hammurabi based his code of law on the religious principles of the Sumerians. D. Many of the laws in use today come from Hammurabi's Code.

I thought it would be B. But i guess it could be D......when i learned it though i was tought that it was made to create equality between the rich and the poor.
