CEO (Chief Executive Officer) is the top ranking officer of the company. The CEO is often Chairman of the Board of Directors as well. CEO developes the "vision" (big picture) for the company. The President, also known as COO (Chief Operating Officer) is second ranking. President oversee the day-to-day operations of the firm. In huge companies with subsidiaries, there can be sereral Presidents, each manages a different area, but there can only be one CEO. You aren't alone; a lot of people get confused by these job titles because in many smaller corporations, the CEO is also the President.
