Suppose 1 gold bar is 6 cm long, 2 cm high, and 3 cm wide. How many whole gold bars will you be able to fit in a vault with a volume of 500 cm3?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

13 because it does not specify the shape so you could just divide 500/36 = 13 8/9 which in whole bars is 13

OpenStudy (irishboy123):

it depends upon the dimensions of the vault, as much as anything else. if the vault is 0.1mm high, etc, then the answer is none. if you were just pouring he gold in, however, you could easily compare volumes.
