in the Article Of Confederation " the national government could not force the states to obey its laws" why was this a problem??

The governments had no control over the states. They had their own armies, raised their taxes, etc. If the U.S was attacked, the states would not help each other, they would focus on protecting themselves. Also, the government would not be able to fund an army or anything else, since they couldn't raise taxes.
