I need help with this, liner models Carrington is paid at the same rate each time he baby sits. The graph shows the rates he is paid for different times. Which equation represents the situation? https://static.k12.com/calms_media/media/1512000_1512500/1512350/1/daf3a596b3d6b143c7a470822c2b47d5f1ee856f/MS_IMC-140516-100014.jpg A. y=1/7x-5 B. y=1/7x+5 C. y=7x-5 D. y=7x+5
@Vocaloid
I really dont get this, yes I know the rise over run stuff, but this is confusing...
first find the difference in the y-coordinates
61-33 = ?
28
good, now find the difference in the x-coordinates 8-4 = ?
4
good. the difference in the y-coordinates is the "rise" part the difference in the x-coordinates is the "run" part so rise/run = 28/4 = 7 = your slope
do you know how to find the y-intercept?
not exactly
look where the line touches the y-axis
|dw:1447364775697:dw|
it touches a 5
good so our equation is y = 7x + 5
thanks that helped a lot :) other people made it to confusing I get it now :)
