The Smiths are sending out a batch of holiday cards. Emily signed 2/5 of the cards. Then Josh signed 1/9 of the remaining cards. Tatiana signed 20% of what Josh had left. If there were 75 cards in all, how many cards are left to be signed? There are ____ cards yet to be signed.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Okay. 2/5 of 75 = 30. That leaves 45 cards 1/9 of 45 = 5 cards, that leaves 40 Calculate 20% of 40, that is 8 cards. Last subtraction is up to you. @samuel_1072

I did not get the last thing @Tom_Boy_Rebel

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Okay so you just do 20% of 80 which is.... what?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

64???

OpenStudy (anonymous):

No... 20% of 80 is 16. I think you just made a simple calculation error. So now do 40-16.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Hope that helped!
