OpenStudy (wwb00):

Is it possible for a triangle to have angle measures in an extended ratio of 1:4:7? If so, find the three angle measures. If not, explain why it is not possible. Thank You.

TheSmartOne (thesmartone):

if an a triangle has 180 degrees, agree?

OpenStudy (wwb00):

Yes

OpenStudy (wwb00):

Could all of the angles be multiples of 15?

TheSmartOne (thesmartone):

lets find out angles are in a ratio of 1:4:7 So 1x + 4x + 7x = 180 can you solve for x?

OpenStudy (wwb00):

The first could be 15 then the second 60 and the last 105, so x is 15

OpenStudy (wwb00):

Thanks. I thought the problem had something more do do with the relationships between the angles more than all of the angles adding to 180 degrees

TheSmartOne (thesmartone):

Good job! :)
