Provide only the correct word (or given pair of words) and the definition(s). Don't forget to list the question number as well. Question 14 The ________ in the test scores caused Susan to ________ when talking to David. paradox . . . oscillate distress . . . shimmer facade . . . pander disparity . . . gloat reticence . . . protest Can someone please help me?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Which one do you think it is? Maybe try using context clues.

OpenStudy (abbycross167):

I think it is paradox . . . oscillate

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Or you can try looking at a dictionary to find out the meanings of those words

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Assuming someone already knows the words would better the question, but yes if you don't know the definition maybe go look them up.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

What do people usually do when they have a better score then someone in a test?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

They tend to show off right?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Depends on a person.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Everyone's reactions are different and very.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

vary*

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Right, but in this case "Disparity" and "Gloat" would be the correct answer. Disparity means a "huge difference" and Gloating is when someone is showing off something

OpenStudy (angiedoesschool2275):

Agreed @BobyGum :)

OpenStudy (abbycross167):
