I am trying to find how many grams are left of a radioactive material. I know that this material has a half life of 1599 years and I have 10 grams. The problem wants to know how much will be left in 1000 years. Do you know an equation that I could use to solve this problem. (the back of the book says that there are 6.48 grams left, but if I don't know the equation to do the problem, then it kinda doesn't really help me!)

Directrix (directrix):

The half life formula is attached. Let's see if it works. A = 10 *( (1/2) ^ (1000/1599)) Crank that out and you'll get the same answer as your text. @svan14
