OpenStudy (lanas1):

How do nucleotides and hydrogen bonds affect the structure of DNA? Maybe something like nucleotides make up DNA and hydrogen bonds hold the nitrogenous bases together?

OpenStudy (sheerfire):

Covalent bonds form between the phosphate groups and sugar molecules of nucleotides to form a strand of polynucleotides. This strand joins with another strand through hydrogen bonds between the nitrogenous bases to form a double strand. This double strand is able to twist around on itself to form a double helix molecule known as DNA.
