Age Ticket Price Under 3 years free 3 to 12 years $36 Over 12 years $48 There were 40 children aged 12 and under, of which some children were under 3 years. If x represents the number of children under 3 years, which equation can be used to find the value of x, where C represents the total amount of money collected from tickets that day? 92 people total. (92 − x)36 + (92 − 40) ⋅ 48 = C (40 + x)36 + (92 − (40 + x)) ⋅ 48 = C (92 + x)36 + (92 − (40 + x))

OpenStudy (danjs):

92 People -- 40 are 12 or under , and so 52 are older than 12

OpenStudy (danjs):

The total Money = $48 * 52 + $36 * (# of the 40 that are 3 to 12)

I'm still very, very confused, sorry.

OpenStudy (danjs):

yeah i am looking at something there are 40 total people under 12 yrs old, of those 40, x of them are under 3 , x kids under 3 (40 - x) kids in the 3-12 52 adult 12 and up i don't think those awnswers look right

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I have absolutely no idea what so ever.

OpenStudy (danjs):

(92 − x)36 + (92 − 40) ⋅ 48 = C would be right if the first 92 was a 40 instead

OpenStudy (danjs):

(40 - x) kids have to pay 36 dollars and the rest are adults (92-40) or 52 people have to pay 48 dollars per tickets

I am still lost, my apologizes.
