What is the y-intercept of the function, and what does this tell you about the car?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Time (hour) x Velocity (miles/hours) y 0 50 1 52 2 54 3 56

Mehek (mehek14):

y-intercept = when x = 0 y = ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

That's what I thought.

Mehek (mehek14):

so what does that tell us about the car?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

that its going two miles per hour

Mehek (mehek14):

I think they mean about the y-intercept not the rate per hour

OpenStudy (anonymous):

What I meant is y is being raised by 2

Mehek (mehek14):

yes i know that

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So would 50 be the y-intercept?

Mehek (mehek14):

yes

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Okay, thank you! That's what I thought it was, but I wasn't quite sure.
