19. The price of a pair of shoes is $59.99 before tax. Dan bought the shoes for 35% off. He then paid 6% sales tax on the discounted price. How much did Dan pay in sales tax? What is the total amount that Dan paid for the shoes? @MollyNicole2015 @flashp

OpenStudy (triciaal):

one approach 100% = the whole 35% off means 35% less pay (100 -35)% = 65% discounted price = 65% of 59.99 sales tax = 6% of cost amount to be added total amount to be paid = discounted price plus the sales tax same as 71% of 59.99
