Can anyone give me a rundown of the basic laws of chemistry/some general terms or tips? Going into a chemistry class soon and I want to be prepared.

Well, it depends which type of chemistry class you are going into. In basic chemistry, you will spend a lot of time studying atoms, bonding, valence electrons, etc. You will also spend some time learning about compounds and elements. Just a side note, Chemistry involves a lot of math.
