OpenStudy (ittybitty14):

Which of the following best describes the equation below? y = 6x + 10 both linear and nonlinear nonlinear neither linear nor nonlinear linear

OpenStudy (welshfella):

If we drew a graph of this equation what would we get?

OpenStudy (welshfella):

you could try using the Desmos Calculator online

OpenStudy (ittybitty14):

I'm thinking the answer is linear

OpenStudy (welshfella):

equations which a variable of the first degree have a particular graph ( first degree because its contains x^1 - which is just written as x)

OpenStudy (ittybitty14):

Linear was correct! thank ya. :)

OpenStudy (welshfella):

Yes The graph of this will be a line because it has only x in it functions like x^2 , x^3 + 2x + 1 etc would be curves.
