Will someone help me please??? Fan + Medal!!!

OpenStudy (happyfeet8040):

Kevin uses technology to construct parallel lines. Kyle uses a compass and straightedge to construct parallel lines. Describe how Kyle's construction steps will be similar to Kevin's construction steps?

OpenStudy (azionne):

because there both trying to construct parallel lines

OpenStudy (azionne):

is that good

OpenStudy (happyfeet8040):

no lol

OpenStudy (azionne):

well i tried

OpenStudy (happyfeet8040):

The answer I came up with is that they will both be the same

OpenStudy (happyfeet8040):

Because I really dont understand this

OpenStudy (azionne):

that would have been my second guess

OpenStudy (ybarrap):

how do yo draw a parallel line First draw a line |dw:1447700810673:dw|

OpenStudy (paxpolaris):

Well if you are using a computer to draw 2 parallel lines >> You draw the first line >> and then you need to pick a point through which the parallel line will pass, >> and then i guess the computer will draw the 2nd line for you

OpenStudy (ybarrap):

Next mark off at least two fixed points a distance x from this line |dw:1447700879662:dw| The lines are now parallel This is how we would do it problematically using a computer.

OpenStudy (happyfeet8040):

Ohhhh okay. I kinda get it now. Thank you guys. I've never used technology to construct parrallel lines so I was confused for a second

OpenStudy (happyfeet8040):

So would the similarity be that you pick a point through which the parallel line will pass?

OpenStudy (paxpolaris):

Using compass and straight edge your first two steps would have to be the same: Well if you are using a computer to draw 2 parallel lines >> You draw the first line (line l) >> and then you need to pick a point through which the parallel line will pass, (point A that is not on line l) >> Then using your compass you can figure out where the 2nd line goes ... ( there might be couple different ways)

OpenStudy (happyfeet8040):

Ohh okay. Thank you so so much! I've had to repost this question so many times.

OpenStudy (paxpolaris):

OpenStudy (happyfeet8040):

I really appreciate your help, thank you :)

OpenStudy (paxpolaris):

Using perpendicular lines:|dw:1447701673639:dw| By making a Parallelogram/rhombus >> pick any two points B and C on line l >> Using Compass, draw arc from C of length AB draw arc from A of length BC ... the two Arcs meet at point D. Draw parallel line AD|dw:1447702181760:dw|
