Is PQR XYZ? If so, name which similarity postulate or theorem applies. A. Similar - AA B. Similar - SSS C. Similar - SAS D. Cannot be determined

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

what are your thoughts on this @osoneedshelp ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@jim_thompson5910 i think it might be B

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

do we know that all 3 pairs of sides are proportional?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

No? @jim_thompson5910

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

We don't. We only know info about 1 pair of sides (not 3) so we can't use SSS

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

We can't use SAS either because, again, we only know info about 1 pair of sides (not 2 pairs)

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

and we can't use AA because we only know 1 pair of angles are congruent (the 90 degree angles). But we don't know anything about any other pair of angles

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@jim_thompson5910 then would it be D?

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

yeah it's impossible to figure out if the triangles are similar or not. We simply don't have enough info

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@jim_thompson5910 it worked ty
