Which is the graph of the line? https://static.k12.com/bank_packages/files/media/mathml_f11ea5b2bf27fb6b0e1bad83b9e733727672e116_1.gif

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I dont exactly get what its asking....

OpenStudy (michele_laino):

it is the equation of a line which passes at point \((6,3)\) and whose slope is \(m=-3/4\) I have referred to the general equation: \[y - {y_0} = m\left( {x - {x_0}} \right)\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

can i post the graphs?

OpenStudy (michele_laino):

yes!

OpenStudy (michele_laino):

hint: if I replace \(x=0\), I get: \[y - 3 = - \frac{3}{4}\left( {0 - 6} \right)\] please compute the value of \(y\)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I think its A...I just worked it out and got A, is that correct?

OpenStudy (michele_laino):

correct!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thanks :D do you have time for one more?

OpenStudy (michele_laino):

ok!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thanks :)

To use a vacuum cleaner at a car wash, customers must pay an initial $3.00 and $0.25 for each 15 min interval. Which table shows how much it costs to use the vacuum cleaner for different amounts of time?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

A. Vacuum Cleaner Costs 15 min intervals 3 5 7 9 Cost $0.75 $1.25 $1.75 $2.25 B. Vacuum Cleaner Costs 15 min intervals 3 5 7 9 Cost $3.75 $4.25 $4.75 $5.25 C. Vacuum Cleaner Costs 15 min intervals 3 5 7 9 Cost $14.25 $20.50 $29.25 $36.75 D. Vacuum Cleaner Costs 15 min intervals 3 5 7 9 Cost $15.75 $16.25 $16.75 $17.25

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I believe the answer is b, if I did it correctly

OpenStudy (michele_laino):

the problem can be modeled by this function: \[C = 3 + 0.25m\] where \(C\) is the total cost, and \(m\) is the number of \(15\) minutes intervals

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so its B?

OpenStudy (michele_laino):

yes! correct!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thanks :) I have a few more questions, but I wont pester you with them, you have helped me a lot :D

OpenStudy (michele_laino):

:)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

...welp, now I have to find a way to get the rest of these questions, I have this math test thats high school grade type even though if just in 8th grade XD they add new stuff all the time its so confusing
