Find the surface area of the prism. A. 24 cm2 B. 54 cm2 C. 90 cm2 D. 168 cm2
the formula for a triangle is a=b times h 1/2. do that then multiply that number by 2. you will have the triangles. the formula for the rectangles is a+b times h. times what you get by 3 then add the total from triangles and the rectangles and you will get the answer
ok
6 times 4 is 24. divide that in half and get 12. multiply it by 2 and get (24)remember this number or write it down. the rectangles are 9 times 5. you will get 45. times that by 3 and you get (135) add 135 and 24 and thats the answer
when you figure it out, medal and dont forget to close the question
so the answer is D
@mdjjh16: Thanks for your contributions here. A more accurate way to present the formula for the area of a triangle would be Area = (1/2)*base*height, or Area = (b*h)/2.
i cant give direct answers..... so go with your gut from the information that i gave you
@kimberly200 : Would you please show your work, explaining what led you to choose a particular answer? The goal here is to help y ou learn how to solve problems, not to guess what the answers to problems are.
@kimberly200 i wasnt working out the one you were showing. i was making one up to show you how to do it. go with your gut and dont double guess yourself
@kimberly200: using the formula that mdjjh16 has given you, find the area of ONE of the triangular ends of this prism. Show your work, please.
i did what @mdjjh16 told me to do but i cant find the answer
I'd be happy to help you further if you SHOW us the work you've done.
yea. you may have made a mistake because thats the proper way to solve that type of problem.
here is a website that may help some more:) http://www.studyzone.org/mtestprep/math8/a/surfareatriprism7l.cfm
@kimberly: what is the length of the base of the triangular end of the prisim? the height? Use mdjjh16 ' s suggested formula to calculate the area of the triangle.
@kimberly: I see that you're now offline. As before, I ask and expect you to participate if you want to benefit from OpenStudy.
Wow.
it would be 6 times 4 and thats your answer...i cant give direct toyou so multiply 6 times 4
please metal and fan:)
