You use "ser" when you are talking about "more permanent" states and "estar" when the state can change throughout time. For instance: you can't change where you are from, but you do, about the place you're staying.

The verb you have in the question can tell you the verb you need in the answer. If you ask "ustedes"=you (plural), you reply "nosotros"=we. The same if you ask with "tú"=you (singular), you answer with "yo"= I.

The plural in Spanish is made, the most of times, adding an "s" or "es"/"as" at the end of articles, adjectives and nouns. They have to agree in number and gender.
