x + y = 6
x = y + 2
A.
x = (x – 6) + 2
B.
x + (y + 2) = 6

Okay. So do you know the difference between the substitution method and elimination?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
Substitution is where you have to either find x and y... then plug in one of those in the other equation...
OpenStudy (anonymous):
So... we already know x because it says
\[x = y + 2\]

Right?

yes

So now we have to plug in x into the other equation... when we do we would get:
\[(y + 2) + y = 6\]
OpenStudy (anonymous):
So... what is the answer?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
I just gave you the answer by the way...
OpenStudy (imamermaid29):
c.

Right!
