Hey Everyone please help?? I just need to know the answers so i can figure it out by myself :) 1. Factor the expression x^2 + 7x +10 A. (x+3)(x+4) B. (x+2)(x+5) C. (x-2)(x-5) D. (x+1)(x+7) 2.Factor the expression x^2 - 3x+2 A. (x+2)(x-1) B. (x+2)(x+1) C. (x-2)(x-1) D. (x-1)(x-3) 3. Factor the expression -x^2 + 3x + 40 A. -(x+2)(x-20) B. -(x-5)(x+8) C. (x-4)(x-10) D. -(x+5)(x-8) 4. Find the GCF of the expression 3a^2 + 9 A. 3 B. a C. a+3 D. 3a 5. Find the GCF of the expression 25b^2 - 20b A. 25 B. 5-b C. b D. 5b

Yes its hard tho because i dont know the answers for sure so i want to make sure they are correct

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Okay lets work on this @Daisyloveeee

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Well you know what... Go to this link they should tell you everything you need to know! http://www.dummies.com/how-to/content/how-to-factor-a-polynomial-expression.html

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Hope this helped! Have a great day! Also a medal would be much appreciated! Just click best response next to my answer. Thank You!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i got c

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Okay.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I have all the answers.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I can help you out.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So do you think the 1st one is c?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

both should be positive?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes. They should.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yeah i thought so

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So when you do that the answer should be...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

What?

OpenStudy (alexandervonhumboldt2):

Which two numbers add up to 7 and multiply to 10? Such numbers are 2 and 5. Thus our equation is (x+2)*(x+5)

OpenStudy (alexandervonhumboldt2):

use Viet theorem

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Right so the answer should be B then.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Now lets do number 2 shall we? @Daisyloveeee

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so (x+2) (x+5)

OpenStudy (alexandervonhumboldt2):

yeah

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Right!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what do you think 2 is now?

OpenStudy (alexandervonhumboldt2):

for second: Which two numbers add up to -3 and multiply to 2? they are -2 and -1. thus the equation is (x-2)*(x-1)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Right.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

C

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Now what do you think number 3 is? @Daisyloveeee

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh that guy answered it hahah

OpenStudy (anonymous):

What do you think 3 is?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

idk im stuck on that one

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Okay well you have to factor the minus sign out right?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So when you do that... it is just like simple factoring..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok

OpenStudy (anonymous):

idk is it A? :/

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Not to go out of order, but here is number 5: 25b^2-20b They both have ''b'', so you know your answer has to have a ''b''. You can eliminate A. From the two numbers (25 and 20), the greatest factor that they have in common in is 5. You take out a 5 and get: 5b(5b-4) You can multiply it out to make sure it is correct. The greatest common factor is: D. 5b

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thanks :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

No problem, Daisyloveeee. :D

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the 1st one is b the 2nd one is c the 3rd one is d the 4th one is a and the 5th one is d
