OpenStudy (karolynxx):

Which equation shows how (–10, 8) can be used to write the equation of this line in point-slope form? a.y – 8 = –0.15(x – 10) b.y + 8 = –0.15(x – 10) c.y – 8 = –0.2(x + 10) d.y + 8 = –0.2(x – 10)

OpenStudy (minimato):

It's C. y - 8 = -0.2(x+10)

OpenStudy (minimato):

Point slope form is y - y1 = m(x-x1). So you could already guess which choice it was based off the point they gave you, (-10, 8), and eliminating the other choices. When you input that point into the point slope form, the equation is going to look like (y - 8) = m(x + 10). Which choice has (y - 8) = m(x + 10). It's C. Get it?
