Why was the World Anti-Slavery Convention in London important to the women's movement? It was the first instance that abolitionists and women's suffragists agreed to work together. Women abolitionists were excluded from the convention, which inspired them to organize the Seneca Falls Convention. Sojourner Truth decided that she would speak out for all women, not just African Americans. The event marked the first time The Liberator was distributed to a global audience.
