Only test your hypothesis. A hypothesis is a theory, or an idea. So testing it wouldn't make it a theory because it already is. Your experiment can't make your hypothesis law, because it would require way more than just one experiment. So the only thing that an experiment can do for your hypothesis is test it, so you can form a new hypothesis or add to the old one.
