Describe what happened when Ag^+ combined with Na2CO3. What does this indicate? I know that a precipitate forms, but I am confused on what it indicates.

Suppose a precipitate would not form, what would that indicate?

So it was insoluble?
If we me mix two solutions, and no precipitate forms (and no other changes in color, smell, bubbling) it indicates that no reaction occurred. When there is a precipitate, what does it indicate?
