Isabella had a week to read a book for a school assignment. She read an average of 36 pages per day for the first three days and an average of 44 pages per day for the next three days. She then finished the book by reading 10 pages on the last day. How many pages were in the book?

Here is how to solve this problem: Since Isabella read 36 pages in the first 3 days, you would divide 36 by 3 to find how many pages she read each day. Then divide 44 pages by 3 days to find how many pages she read in those next 3 days. Since 36 divided by 3 equals 12, then you know she read 12 pages each day for the first three days, and 44 divided by 3 equals 14.66 pages per day for the last three days. Now multiply 14.6 by 3. (43.8) Multiply 12 by 3. (36) Add 36 and 43.7 (89.7) Add 10 to 89.7. There were (on average) 100 pages in the book. Hope this helped you~
