OpenStudy (anonymous):

The ____ of the renal medulla is permeable to water, which is drawn out by _____ through aquaporins. Antidiuretic hormone stimulates the insertion of aquaporins in the membrane, which helps to ____ the urine. Choices are: collecting duct, ascending loop, active transport, passive diffusion, concentrate, or dilute. I will give you a medal! please help me!

OpenStudy (ramzy197):

its in this order collecting duct then passive diffusion then concentrate these are the answers because the asending limb is impermeable to water but collecting ducts are permeable to water and passive diffusion requires no atp and aquaporins dont require atp to work and aquaporins are used to draw water out of the kidneys so it can be reabsorbed by the body
