What is resonating in a guitar?

OpenStudy (zavier10):

The guitar Strings

OpenStudy (koalagurl1):

ik @zavier10 but i mean what makes them resonate.

OpenStudy (zavier10):

when the Driving frequency of strumming of the strings = natural frequency of the guitar strings there's resonance. Basically when you strum the strings they vibrate the top plate of the guitar and resonate, causing the air in the cavity to vibrate, resonating this causes the music you hear.
