OpenStudy (anonymous):

A 5.75 g bullet is fired with a velocity of 1.50 x 10^3 toward a stationary solid block resting on a friction less surface the bullet embeds but the block does not move what is the change in momentum of the bullet if it embeds in the block?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[\huge \Delta (mv)=(mv)_f-(mv)_i\]

OpenStudy (gollywolly):

Use the conservation of momentum equation to figure out final momentum. The block is stationary so that it has an initial momentum of 0 and both the final velocities are the same because it is a totally inelastic collision.
