If two parallel lines are cut by a transversal, the alternate interior angles are congruent. If two lines are cut by a transversal and the alternate interior angles are congruent, the lines are parallel. E: Always congruent. If two parallel lines are cut by a transversal, the alternate exterior angles are congruent. If two lines are cut by a transversal and the alternate exterior angles are congruent, the lines are parallel. F: Not always congruent, but they are always supplementary (add up to 180 degrees).
