OpenStudy (ronlover101):

What is the solution to the system of equations? (?,?)

OpenStudy (ronlover101):

Here is the numbers.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

We would solve this by substitution.

OpenStudy (ronlover101):

How do you do that. I am asking that cause I suck at it.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I understand. Let me solve and then I can walk you through it.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Do you have answer choices?

OpenStudy (ronlover101):

Thanks.

OpenStudy (ronlover101):

no I do not @jesuedance1120

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OK. No problem. One more second,

OpenStudy (ronlover101):

ok

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ok. ready to see the magic?

OpenStudy (ronlover101):

ya

OpenStudy (dayakar):

5x+4y=8-----(1) x-2y =10------(2) multiply eq(2) with 2 and add it to eq(1) ucan get x value

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So you have your two equations and you have to move the x to one side of either equation x=10+2y Then you have to substitute that into the other equation. 5(10+2y)+4y=8 Then you can solve. 50+10y+4y=8 50+14y=8 14y=-42 y=-3 Then you put the y answer into the other equation. x-2(-3)=10 Then you solve. x-2(-3)=10 x+6=10 x=4 And your answer is (4,-3) Any questions?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Please fan me.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Anymore help? Please message me @ronlover101

OpenStudy (ronlover101):

ok thank you @jesuedance1120 . And if I need any more help I will thanks!
