The cons of the contest.

I just read the the owlbuzz and after reading some of the top and finding praise comments, I quickly scrolled to the bottom and read about the contest.

First of all, why do we need to tell people we have helped another person ? Shouldn't we be happy with helping someone when we do not even get a reward ?

Second of all, if your qualified helpers were helping users throughout the sections, they would notice the hard work and effort of helpers who don't even care about their SS or medals.

Last of all, you could actually be posting screenshots of people helping others on your newspaper to show your appreciation for their help. And there are other helpers besides ambassadors and moderators which you constantly praise on the newspaper.

We had been receiving complaints that askers have not be getting enough help lately, this contest was made to hopefully create more initiative to get questions the help that they need.

Reward people for helping and they have to give proof of their help ? Seriously ? If the people who created it weren't busy thinking about the stupid contest, they could've been helping people.

What I mean is that this is to encourage more people to help others
you said that in the time that they were thinking up the contest, they could have been helping people - but in the long run more people would be helped with the initiative given by this contest.

I am a hypocrite myself and I am fine with that, it is who I am and I don't mind.
I personally believe that this contest has good intentions.
