How do you gain the cents at the top right of the screen near your profile picture?

OpenStudy (grape):

One of the cents at the top = 1 Medal recieved

OpenStudy (kendricklamar2014):

Medals, medals, medals, and more medals....

OpenStudy (grape):

If you want to get free "smartcents" you just need to answer the owlfred scholarship on your profile page :D

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ok :) Thank you so much! :)

OpenStudy (grape):

No problem m8! :3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

:D @Grape

whitemonsterbunny17 (whitemonsterbunny17):

Yes. You can collect SmartCents from medals, either from asking a question or from answering a question. However, please be sure that you don't give out any direct answers or create any posts known as "medal parties" to inflate your quantity of SmartCents and medals. With that in mind, have fun helping and learning! I wish you a warm welcome to OpenStudy, and the best of luck with all of your future studies! Have a wonderful day, and if you have any questions about anything, don't hesitate to ask! (:

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@Whitemonsterbunny17 :) Thank you for the detailed response! Once I get so many will I gain owl bucks? Like a dollar, if I gain 100 cents, I gain 1 dollar. Is that the same with this?

OpenStudy (grape):

You need to buy OwlBucks so you can get qualified help :)

whitemonsterbunny17 (whitemonsterbunny17):

No, but you can purchase OwlBucks with real money. Also, if you become a Qualified Helper, you'll get OwlBucks from helping people.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ok, how do I become a qualified helper if I wanted to?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@Whitemonsterbunny17

OpenStudy (grape):

You need to be at least 80 SS :)

whitemonsterbunny17 (whitemonsterbunny17):

Yes. And also, here's the link to the application: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/14chWatcyhBZi9OazysshsDs6hWW5JmirpnFRjVF74ks/viewform

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ok. Thank you so much for all of your help! One more question...I haven't figure out how exactly you get SS so how?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@Whitemonsterbunny17 are you still here?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Sorry if I seem pushy...

whitemonsterbunny17 (whitemonsterbunny17):

I'm still here, yes. Your SmartScore will increase as your subscores increase. Each subscore will increase from doing different things. For instance, the Engagement subscore will increase as you come online each day, and from closing questions you ask. The Problem Solving subscore will increase as you answer others' questions and receive medals from them. The Teamwork subscore will increase as you invite new users to the site, gain fans, and receive testimonials. There are a few other factors that will increase your score, but those are the basics. (:

OpenStudy (anonymous):

:) Thank you so much for all of you help! Have a great day!

OpenStudy (grape):

You too! :3
